A Focus on Innovation and Results
Prior to forming ConXentric, Rick spent the previous five years in upper management at Citrix Systems, Inc. (CTXS; Nasdaq), a billion-dollar-plus manufacturer and marketer of application delivery and virtualization software. During Rick's leadership tenure at Citrix, the company's revenues grew from $527 million to more than $1.4 billion.
As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Citrix's Virtualization Systems Group, Rick was responsible for technology and business strategy, architecture, intellectual property for Citrix's application delivery software for Windows applications, and Windows desktops.
Prior to becoming CTO, he also served in Product Line Executive, VP Product Management, and VP Product Marketing roles since 2001. As VP Product Marketing, Rick has organized and led global launches for large multi-national corporations, as well as small-to-medium businesses as CEO.
Key Technology Leadership Experience
Rick has been personally trained by the leaders in disruption innovation, Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen and consulting firm Innosight's Chairman Mark Johnson.
Rick brings a unique combination of Business, Internet Marketing, Enterprise and Corporate Marketing and High-Tech experience together into a cohesive, powerful array of capabilities for generating disruptive business growth.
With over 25 years of high-tech experience, Rick previously held key positions at BMC Software - including group architect for e-Business Solutions - where he defined, built, and supported leading-edge service-level management systems for managing Internet, application server, middleware, CRM and ERP systems, and developing database administration tools for Oracle and SQL-Server.
Rick is an inventor and technologist, having originally patented web load-balancing, fault-tolerant systems & Internet management tools, with other patents-pending.
An Entrepreneurial Fervor
Prior to BMC, Rick was an independent consultant specializing in real-time process control software. In 1986, as founder and CEO of Pioneering Controls Technologies, Rick brought the first Unix-based process control software to market in the oil and gas, food processing, and manufacturing industries. As a consultant, software developer and entrepreneur, Rick was involved in a wide range of software projects throughout the early 1980s.
Rick spent the late 1970s in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in top-secret cryptographic data and voice communications systems at NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado Springs. Rick graduated from the US Air Force Cryptographic School (with honors) in 1977.
When not completely consumed by his professional pursuits, you can expect to find Rick bass fishing or playing poker.
